Recently on the show, we destroyed one of those ubiquitous AOL disks that AOL thinks we want. Without asking for it, they sent me, free of charge, a "startup" disk that not only did I abhor, wasn't even for the right platform (they sent me IBM software; I use a Mac).

When it came time, about halfway through the program, we put on this gloomy morose classical music (Danzig's Black Aria ) for background, and I the disk out of my box, and began narration. I smashed it a goodly number of times with a heavy microphone stand, and then pryed the case open, to reveal the disk. I announced that I was going to further desecrate the 15 Free Hours of Point-and-Click World Wide Web and Internet Access by playing it on the turntable, which I did, and many repugnant noises were broadcast.

Zane actually recorded the stunt (which, btw, garnered no publicity) and jealously holds the tape. When I get the chance - maybe later this week - I'll digitize it and put it here.
